Our Pastor, Rev. Cary Gomer

Cary Gomer has been pastor here at First Baptist Church since March 2006. He is a passionate preacher known for his openness and compassion.  Bro. Cary has a heart for God and a great desire to see others enter into an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ and grow in their love and knowledge of Him.  As a bi-vocational pastor he also has a job at Top Flight, Inc. in Chattanooga.  Although Bro. Cary has a “day job” he is always available, no matter the time or the need.  He wants to share your joys and struggles, helping you in your Christian walk.  Taking your needs to our Heavenly Father in prayer is a privilege for him.

  Cary and his wife, Sarah Beth, have been married for fifteen years. Sarah Beth serves in several capacities and brings her unique energy to each one.  One of her favorite things is the fellowship, worship and time of prayer with the ladies during their monthly L.A.M.B.’s (Ladies About the Masters Business) meetings.  The Lord has blessed them with five children Cullen 14, Clay 13, Casey 8, Caleb 7, and Catie Grace 5. 

  From the moment that Cary, Sarah Beth and the crew, first attended services at First  Baptist they felt like they were “home”.  They desire that each person that walks through the church doors feel comfortable, welcome and like part of the family.  “We feel so blessed to call this congregation our family and love serving the Lord alongside them.  We are excited to see what the Lord plans to do in and through us in the days ahead.  Our desire is to be in the center of His will….it is the safest place to be.”
